At the International Heritage Conservation Lab (IHCL), we employ a variety of equipment and tools for restoring artworks that contribute to their longevity and durability. We treat artworks and collections required for research, exhibition and digitization. We also undertake turnkey projects to set up conservation laboratories and emergency evacuation units for art and heritage collections.
Workstations in the IHCL provide ample space for conservators to examine and handle all manner of artworks and materials, from oversized maps, printed illustrations to monographs. Storage units within labs allow easy access to a variety of hand tools, adhesives and frames. Smaller hand tools allow for precision treatment work at the bench; scalpels, rulers and finishing presses are frequently used implements that assist in work such as paper repair, re- sewing and constructing custom made enclosures.
