Analysis and research

At IHC we offer technical investigation for artworks by employing scientific instruments to identify the components of an artwork. These components could include, but are not limited to, pigments and binding media. The analysis and process of selecting an appropriate research strategy is very critical to any artwork and, to be able to identify and place it in its historical context. Our research includes:

a. Advanced pigment and binding media analysis of historical paint
b. Ultra-high resolution digital imaging in the visible, and ultraviolet fluorescence
c. Specialist interpretation of technical imaging
d. Technical research studies for establishing attribution, condition and dating
