Pondicherry Project

Pondicherry Museum is housed with Chola bronzes from 9th to 12th century. This project was undertaken by National Museum Conservation Laboratory, New Delhi. About eighty Bronzes were restored under this project. Most of them have heavy incrustations of mud. The work included dry cleaning to washing in few cases with deionised water. In few cases of heavy bronze disease the sealing was done with silver nitrate. Also the protective coating was given on a few of them.
