Project with Austrian Embassy

The Austrian embassy was renovated in 2009. All the art works were removed from the current location. Artworks required restoration were done under my supervision which includes restoration of Picchwai on Cloth, size 14X20 feet. The Picchwai was previously hung on curtain hooks and was distorted. It was spoilt with incrustations in number of area and big holes on the lower part. Due to uneven hanging for long time it was sagging and the damages were extended.

The Picchwai was cleaned with organic solvents on suction table as the colours were very sensitive. Lined with de starched cotton support. The holes were darned and was prerared for mounting on a new wooden support as the honeycomb board of that size was not possible.
